About SimilarCase

Last updated August 12, 2026

SimilarCase is an AI-assisted research product for United States workers' compensation law. The first corpus focuses on California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) panel decisions.

What the product does

You describe a matter in your own words or upload materials. SimilarCase extracts outcome-determinative factors — disputed issues, medical-opinion posture, legal standards, procedural posture — and ranks decisions where the same kinds of facts decided the outcome. Matches are not keyword overlap alone.

Grounding and citations

Every released case-card field is tied to a verbatim quote from the source decision, with page context when available. Unverified citations are not shown. Factor-match scores measure retrieval relevance, not the chance of winning a case.

Who it is for

  • Applicant and defense attorneys doing WCAB research
  • Legal teams comparing similar fact patterns across decisions
  • Later: additional state systems and federal workers' compensation bodies, under the same grounding rules

What it is not

SimilarCase is research assistance, not a law firm and not legal advice. It does not predict outcomes, settlement value, or what you should file. Licensed professionals must verify authority and exercise independent judgment. See the Terms of Use.

Sources

The corpus is built from public government decision text and related public channels under our source-governance rules. We do not scrape paywalled databases or copy third-party editorial headnotes.
